Clean dust / dirt from surfaces

Surfaces such as tables, floors, cabinets & mirrors that would be in the frame of the camera should be clean enough as to not show noticeable dirt/dust in camera.

Amenities

The surrounding area for all amenities that will be highlighted in the video should be cleaned & decluttered.

Keep away all personal items

All personal items should be hidden or organized neatly at a corner where it's not noticeable in frame when shooting.

Bedrooms

Clean dust / dirt from surfaces

Surfaces such as tables, floors, cabinets & mirrors that would be in the frame of the camera should be clean enough as to not show noticeable dirt/dust in camera.

Change bedsheets / pillowcases

Change existing bedsheets, pillowcases & blankets if there are noticeable stains.

Make the bed

Arrange all bedsheet, blanket & pillows on the bed to make it presentable.

Keep away all personal items

All personal items should be hidden or organized neatly at a corner where it's not noticeable in frame when shooting.

Kitchen

Clean & clear work surfaces

Keep work surfaces such as the kitchen table & kitchen countertop clear of clutter. Hide bottles, Maggie packets, Tupperwares, etc.

Keep away all kitchenware

Hide or organize neatly all plates, bowls, cups & silverware.

Bathrooms

Clean sink area

Keep surfaces of the sink clean & clear of clutter. Hide toothbrush, shampoo, mouthwash, etc.

Clean mirrors

Mirrors should be clean and have no water spots on them.

Keep away all cleaning products

Hide or organize neatly all cleaning products/tools. Mops, toilet brush, etc.

Leave toilet seats down

Make sure all toilet seats & covers are down.

Driveway

Tidy up front of house

This is the first thing audiences will see so make sure the area is as clean & tidy as can be to nail the first impression!
Look out for these:

  • Messy shoes
  • Clothing rack full of laundry
  • Dusty shoe cabinet
  • Messy garden hose

Pull out all vehicles

The driveway should be clear of cars, bicycles, motorbikes, etc.

General Rule of Thumb

Add household decorations

Adding a few picture frames, plants or any decoration item would make the place more lively & presentable.

Turn on all indoor lighting

This will ensure that the whole house has a bright & welcoming tone when filmed.

Keep curtains open

The curtains of all rooms should be opened to let in as much natural light as possible.

Post-checklist implementation

After checking off all items from the list, you are now ready to proceed to the shooting guide.

* Inform occupants, if any to stay in their rooms during filming as to not interrupt the process.
